How it all began....

With the creation, tremendous growth and popularity of the Better Horses Network newspaper, an informative publication filled with news and information for equine enthusiasts----could it be possible that Ernie Rodina and the Purina’s Gold Dealers in our area could have found any better way to provide equine news and information to the public? If you know Ernie Rodina, you know better than to put anything past him in his abilities to accomplish something bigger and better.

So, not surprisingly, he’s done it again! On Sunday, February 13, 2005, a new radio program debuted replacing Horseman’s Radio Weekly after Jim Campbell’s retirement from the program. Now on stations throughout the Midwest, you can hear the Better Horses Radio Show. Once you listen to the show, you’ll know that Ernie was destined to be a Radio Personality!  He is joined with his co-host, Dawn Dawson, a Purina Mills Ambassador, Clinician and Trainer.

Ernie and Dawn will provide you an hour of entertainment in the horse world like none other. The Better Horses Radio Show includes interesting interviews with equine clinicians, veterinarians and horse trainer.  There are weekly horse sense tips from top-level clinicians, veterinaries and others in the equine industry and you'll be able to find out some of the upcoming events in barrel racing, cutting or other events.  In 2006, we added a segment with Glenno the Cowman which offers tips in the cattle industry for those interested in that area.  Throughout the show, we’re confident you’ll find a laugh or two in there somewhere as well.

Already in the program’s short history, Ernie and Dawn have had guests like Clinton Anderson, Al Dunning, Shawn Flarida, Brent Wright, Martha Josey, Stacey Westfall, Jerry Diaz, Dr. Jeff Van Petten, Kerry Kuhn, Jeanne Anderson, and many, many others.

Ernie and Dawn offer horse owners with equine news and information as well as a little cowboy and cowgirl entertainment.  We've heard from western music entertainers like R.W. Hampton, Belinda Gail, Curly Musgrave and our own cowboy entertainer, Geff Dawson.
